Abansi donates Kalanguya Artifacts

     In response to the immediate implementation of Indigenous Peoples Education Program based on the DepEd Order Nos. 62, 51 and 32, Dionisio T. Abansi, Master Teacher I and Araling Panlipunan Teacher donated authentic Kalanguya musical instruments and artifacts for the Kalanguya Archive and Showroom this September.

     Among the materials bequeathed are: Kuldahing, Pakgong, Hulibaw which are kalanguya musical instruments. Kitchen Utensils are also given which includes: duyo, baliken, habubo and the likes.

   These artifacts will be utilized by teachers in integrating the Kalanguya Indegenous Knowledge Systems and Practrices in all learning areas where it is appropriate and/or complementary with the DepEd K-12 Learning Competencies.

NNHS strengthens IPEd

 

  Nansiakan National High School strengthens Indigenous Peoples Education by launching special Programs and Projects starting this month of September.

 

      The programs and Projects implemented are the School’s Innovative Program on Living Tradition, Kalanguya Day, establishment of the Cultural Center, Mini-museum and Tungtungngan Center and organization of AGIYo Performing Arts Circle and Council of Elders.

Kalanguya Youths organize AGIYo Performing Arts Circle

     Kalanguya Youths of NNHS organized AGIYo (Active Group of the I-Kalanguya Youth) Performing Arts Circle to be the core organization in promoting, performing and most importantly helping to preserve the rich Kalanguya Practices and Traditions by teaching them to the younger ones.

    This Organization will take charge in the implementation of the Schools Innovative Program on Living Traditions where students will be taught on how to perform the different practices of the Kalanguyas like aabig, dayumti, hagigi, bahliw and the like.

IPEd Coordinator organizes Ba-liw Training Workshop

     Marivic Kindahan, School IPEd Coordinator initiated the conduct of Training Workshop on Performing Ba-liw  as an initial activity of the School's Innovative Program on Living Traditions. It was held at the School Quadrangle on Sept. 18.

Kalanguya Icons, gathered

 

     Kalanguya Icons were gathered by the members of AGIYo Performing Arts Circle this September for preservation, utilization in instruction and promotion purposes.

SH,IPC participates in IPED Retooling Workshop

 

     Dr. Roger S. Sebastian, School Head and Marivic S. Kindahan, IPEd Coordinator attended the IPED Retooling Workshop for School Heads and Teachers with 100 % IP Enrolment at Bagabag Training Center on Sept. 3-6.

 

NNHS establishes Mini-Museum and Library Corner
     NNHS established a mini-museum in the Classrooms of 9-Einstein and 9-Newton this months of September and October respectively.
         The mini-museum housed different Kalanguya Materials such as Musical Instruments, Kitchen Utensils, Fishing Gears, and other Paraphernalias.
        These materials were donations from Mr. Dionisio T. Abansi, ESP 9 students and were organized by ESP 9 students and the ESP 9 teacher.
